One of the Best Lessons I Have Learned
Since it is the week before finals these are the last few days we will be seeing our professors until next week. As my communications class was leaving, my professor stopped everyone and told us she wanted to tell us something that she would hope that we would keep in our hearts.
“From the very first day of class I have told you that I do not create average speakers or even good speakers; but that I create only the very best, which is what I have done. I not only want you to exceed in what you do in here, but in everything you do. Never settle. Don’t settle for second best. Don’t even go for good or average. Try hard in everything you do, because if you don’t there will always be that person that is even a little bit better than you.”
I have taken these words, and have locked them up inside my heart. I believe everyone should, because who doesn’t deserve the very best?
