  • Cosplay Guide for N00bs (like me ^_^;;)

I’m nowhere near expert mode in the cosplaying world, in fact I’m one of the biggest n00bs around. Although I’m new to this magical world of cosplay, I do know what I’m looking for when it comes to a costume.

I can’t sew, the only artistic ability I have is to play music and to draw. This will not help me in creating an outfit, so my only option is to do as much research as I can online. The first big DUH, you need to look for is a RELIABLE site. The last thing you want to do is invest your money in a costume, purchase it online, and then find out you were scammed (or spent tons of money on a costume not even worth a penny).

Step 1: Do your research. There are plenty of online forums you can go to that will offer you lots of advice and websites. With all of these cosplay veterans floating around online, you are bound to find information on what you need to look for in the quality of whatever you are searching for.

Step 2: Once you are done browsing the interwebz and you have found a few websites that you have found reliable, DO NOT. I repeat DO NOT, settle for the first thing that you found. I mean sure, that would be the easy way out, but with your luck you probably forked over $20 or $30 extra that you didn’t need to spend.

I recently bought a cosplay wig for my future cosplay costume. It cost me around $32 (including express shipping). It feels and looks like real hair, you can use heat on it, and you can dye it. I believe the shipping was free, so minus the express shipping my wig was around $22-$25. Not too shabby for a decent wig. Just looking on Amazon I couldn’t find a heat protected wig that you could dye for under $30 or $40 not to mention shipping. http://cosplayanimewigs.com/

As for costumes, I haven’t gotten far. I’m still debating on which website to order my cosplay from. I’m leaning towards http://www.milanoo.com/Game-Cosplay-Costumes-c2188 simply because it has user reviews, and the prices are pretty decent. What’s also great about this site is for around $20 they can customize the costume for you, as well as get your exact measurements for a more fitted costume. Another more “affordable” cosplay should that I have stumbld upon is http://www.procosplay.com/default.aspx.

  • FU*K SCHOOL

I’m going to be a junior in college soon, and for the past 2.5 years I’ve wanted to dropout. It’s not because it’s difficult, challenging, or whatever. I simply just don’t belong here. My current major is elementary education, sure kids are fun…but I do NOT want to do this for a living. In fact, there is nothing that I want to do at my university. I want to go in for film, but since my parents are paying for my school I have no way to pay for film school. Maybe one day eh?

I just don’t belong here, and I’m really interested in the film/online world. Sure, there’s more of a chance to fail in life risking things such as that, but I honestly don’t care anymore. Fuck university, fuck studying for hours for classes that I don’t want. I don’t want to be a teacher, I don’t want to be an art major, business major, accountant, nurse, or etc. I want to make a name for myself because I DID it. I want to do something because I was that creative person that took the next step. I look up to Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, and Bill Gates. They said fuck you and did what they wanted because they risked everything….ugh…I hate feeling trapped and worthless.

I mean sure…those people I just mentioned were geniuses, and I lack in the intelligence department. I just feel like I could have something that nobody else does. I’m just not sure how to put it out there. I’m done being that awkward introvert that nobody knows the name of. It’s time to take the next steps I have to take.

Prepare to deal with some intense cosplays in the near future.

  • If I get murdered, you now know who did it.

I was looking for a job a few weeks ago, so my boyfriend and his friend told me about some online job offer he got. That should have been my red flag, because anything that sounds too good to be true is most likely just that. Anyways, the email started out something like “fill out the information below” yadda yadda yadda.

The information was my name, my gender, my phone number, and my address I believe. What they wanted you to do basically was to order supplies or something. It wasn’t quite clear, and I shouldn’t have done this, but I was encouraged too…and since apparently I lack in common sense I did it. I sent them a second email saying I just wanted information on their company, and their company’s email. They never replied, assuming because they are major scammers. I mean their “company’s” email is williamwil1@yahoo.com

I never noticed the email address until after the second email they sent me which was:

    Hello (insert my name here),

How are you doing and hope you are in the right frames of heart,Reports reaching me has it that the Check for your first week pay as well as funds to process to the supplier by means of Western Union or Money Gram has been mailed out to you and shall deliver to you via USPS Tracking 420 47712 9405 5036 9930 0453 5706 92 Today .

    Regards.

If that email doesn’t sound sketchy to you, I don’t know what does. I then emailed them telling them I wasn’t interested. They had already mailed me a check for that sum. Well, I didn’t do anything with that check they sent me. I planned on mailing it back today, which good thing because they sent me a threatening email.

    Hey (insert name here),
It have come to our notice that you stole the company fund for our supplier, who was suppose to get us materials. Remember signed is your Letter of Agreement.
You are here by giving 24hrs to return the fund in your position else you would have yourself to be blamed.
We have uploaded your data and our men will be getting to you in 24hrs from now, just letting you know there is no were to hide with the company funds.
Stop picking your calls will not save you, we shall get you in know distance time like i told you earlier 24hrs is all your got.
    Bye for now.
    Williams Wilson

I mean first of all, I didn’t steal shit. If anything they were going to steal from me. If you think about it, the moment I would’ve cashed that check and followed their instructions, it would have most likely been a counterfeit check. I would have had to pay the bank whatever it was they stole. Anyways, I sent this back to them. If I remember anything correctly, they only calld me once too. And that’s for me to check my email on the job “details”. Fucking weirdos la.

I have not stolen your company’s money, I mailed it back to you today. You should get it soon. Second of all, I have mailed you telling you I didn’t want the job. YOU mailed ME the check anyways. I asked you for your company’s information before accepting the job. You never gave me the information. In fact, I believe your company isn’t very trusthworthy at all. When you get your check back, I request that you stop contacting me.

And next time you want to try and contact people for an online job, maybe it will be more professional if you don’t use a yahoo account. A real company would have their own email address. Nice try.

    Bye for now

  • Marbley Peen Cake and Catan

I’m known among my friends as the one that likes to bake for no reason, so basically my friend came to me today for help. Since it’s her boyfriend’s birthday on Tuesday (the 6th) she wanted me to bake some badass birthday cake for him, or at least to show her how.

Her boyfriend’s favorite game is Catan, so we baked mini cupcakes and shaped them like the game board.

Since we had a lot of cake batter left…as well as fondant…I decided to be a pervert and make her boyfriend a penis cake….I doubt anyone will eat this.
