  • The Lost: A New Reality: Part 6

I didn’t have to open my eyes to feel the atmosphere of morning. I sensed the warm, sunny rays wrap around me. It was almost as if it were a blanket of pure, soul nurturing sunlight.

As I opened my eyes, I found myself in a bed that felt identical to my own. Could this all have been a dream?

I sat up and realized, this wasn’t my home, and the horror I had experienced the night before wasn’t a dream. It was reality. In fact, the world that I had once known, would now only be visible in my dreams. I didn’t want to believe that what was now reality…was a world overrun by evil.

I started to wonder where Daryl was. The house was so quiet that the only thing audible was the complete silence that remained undisturbed.

I wandered down the stairs, he was nowhere to be found. I made my way to the living room, and saw the body of the beast that attacked me laying in it’s own pool of blood.

The walker (as Daryl would say), was wearing a dress shirt and slacks. He looked to be in his early teens, perhaps he was going to church, or maybe private school. Whoever he was, I couldn’t stand to look at him any longer. As I started to move away from the body, the front door flew open. Could it be Daryl? Or was it more walkers, I was too frightened to turn around.
